Fortnite Playground Mode Guide
As we approach the end of Season 4, fans were treated to a limited time mode named Fortnite Playground Mode. Since the rules for this one are different from the Battle Royale mode that we've been so familiar with, we'll discuss how exactly this mode works so you can have an easier time playing it.
Fortnite Playground Mode
Even though there are ample of in-game tips to help the player through the initial stages of the Fortnite adventure, building, crafting, and shooting is things that would greatly be improved if someone practiced them. There was no training mode in the game up until now.
The introduction of Playground Mode means that you could freely roam the map and see how you can plan your strategies in a practical way.
Practice in Solo or Co-op Mode
You can hop into the mode with three friends or with three strangers from around the globe. Alternatively, you could venture out solely with the only one being on the map. For this one, it is not so straightforward! You will first need to go to the Squads Tab and select the Don't Fill option. This will ensure that you have the entire map just for yourself.
This mode, undoubtedly, was put out as something the fans could practice in to polish their skills or to learn new ones. Since there is no end to the amount of talent and skill required to build complex structures, there is always room for improvement and learning.
How Loot Work in the Mode
The mode starts similar to the other ones, you drop out of a bus in the sky, you parachute your way to the desired destination and then you begin hunting for weapons.
Unlike the other modes, there is a guarantee of the presence of treasure chests and loot in specific places. So ammo boxes, chests, and Llamas will spawn 100% of the time. There will be a total of 100 loot Llamas for you on the island.
The locations for the loot are not random in this mode e.g. if you found a treasure chest in a specific shed in a round, you will find it there the next time you play the mode. Additionally, you are able to gather 10 times as many resources from cutting down a tree as you would normally. Bricks, wood, metal, and steel; all of these resources are multiplied by 10 when you ax down a particular structure.
Time Duration for the Session
There is also a little difference in how the storm works. For the first 55 minutes, there will not be a storm so you could focus only on building and improving your aim with Fortnite weapons. The last five minutes is when the storm starts to engulf the map and at the end of the 5 minutes, the round comes to the end. This provides an ample time for exploration, crafting, and polishing your shooting skills.
Friendly Fire
There is no rule pertaining to friendly fire in the game so you can mess around with your friends and create all sorts of fun situations. Anyhow, an eliminated player will respawn automatically after 10 seconds. After all, this mode is not about competition, it is about learning. Do note, however, players killed in the storm do not respawn.
Needless to say, this is a breath of fresh air. The mode encourages creativity, freedom, and a strong desire to learn and adapt. This will help newcomers fit better into the more competitive modes and for the experts to become even better. We will most likely see the mode make its way out of the game by next week until then do what you can with the Playground Mode.
