TERA Crafting Tips And Tricks

Like most MMORPGs, TERA has a crafting system that allows you to become a tycoon of business. Your goal is to craft a fine product or handle the materials that become fine products, all with a mind to making as much gold as possible. I want to be completely upfront in letting you know that you will make more gold and obtain more full and rare items by going on dungeon raids with parties. For many players, crafting can be a side hobby that will make you a little extra gold and allow you to enjoy another facet of the game. It is also fun to challenge yourself with a different way to make gold. All that being said, crafting can be a tedious way to go about earning gold in TERA. That does not mean it is not possible, and it also does not mean there are not players out there who enjoy profiting off of the process of creating something that is in demand. When you reach the highest levels, you will be able to make some of the best gear in the game as it will be very rare on drops. This is a short tips and tricks style guide to let you know how best to take advantage of the TERA crafting system and make as much gold as possible with it. The problem with crafting, however, is that they take a lot of time. Buying TERA gold is a far more convenient option.

The first thing that needs to be noted is that TERA has a unique method of obtaining materials called Extraction. What this enables you to do is to take items that you would normally just sell back to the vendors to make a profit, and instead extract raw materials such as Metal and Leather from them. Leather Extraction will give you leather and Metal Extraction will give you metal.

To expedite this process you will need to purchase Extraction scrolls from the vendors in town. The scroll tab will have these for sale. When purchasing them, buy the same level scroll as the level of item you are performing Extraction on. Tiers of items and tiers of scrolls must be learned together. So you will not be able to use Extraction on a tier 4 weapon, with a tier 4 scroll, unless you have already learned the previous three levels. These scrolls are not very expensive.

After you have done that simply press "J" on your keyboard to bring up the extraction menu and follow the steps. This will give you the raw materials you will need to craft.

The second way to obtain raw materials is simply gathering them out in the wilderness. You can gather by mining, picking up plants, or picking up energy. You do not need any instruments for this process, so there is no need to worry about getting the right tools. Press the "F" key when you need a resource and the cast bar will start. The materials will be placed in your pack as you begin to gather them.

Gathering takes a little bit of patience because you will start at level one. This means two things. One: that you will be gathering the worst type of the resource. Two: that you will fail sometimes and not successfully gather. This is easy to overcome, however, as you can imply press "F" again and try again till you succeed. Each successful attempt to gather will raise your level. Once you hit level 20+, you have an about a 20% chance to collect a greater value material of the item. This can be an effective way to gather materials, especially if you can find out where they are available and go from spot to spot with speed.

There are lots of guides available as to where to find the actual resources. Should you choose to do this, there is another way to take advantage of gathering. You can group farm the resources because when you mine or gather at the same team each member of the group gets the material. This means instead of getting just one material, each group member will get one. This will greatly enhance the amount of raw materials you will gather and can be a very good way to get a lot of materials in a short time. If you do this at the same time that you farm Mobs then you will have one of the more effective ways in TERRA Online to make gold. There will be a little more information on this at the conclusion of this guide.

The last form of gathering is called skinning. This is as simple as it sounds, you will hunt and kill animals that can be skinned for leather. There is no level for this, in the normal sense anyway. You will get the same tier of leather quality as the animal you kill for it. This means that you will have to be able to kill the monster that you are trying to skin, or you will die in the attempt to gather it. This is more a natural selection way of knowing your level of skinning.

Once you are able to gather the raw materials you need to craft, you can start leveling up your crafting. There are six professions in TERA, and they will be listed here along with the best way to make gold with each character.
